The criterion not only guarantees exponential stability but also reduces the effect of external interference to an induced l∞ norm constraint. We present a numerical example, which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed criterion.

Stability Analysis of Digital Filters under Finite Word Length Effects via Normal-Form Transformation
In this paper, a novel approach is proposed to analyze and minimize fixed-point arithmetic errors for digital filter implementations based on eigenvalue sensitivity measures. First, uncertainties of the filter-parameter caused by roundoff and computational errors are expressed in the function of register length for fixed-point implementations. Sequentially, based on a fixed-point statistical mo...
متن کاملAnalytical Approach for Synthesis of Minimum L2-Sensitivity Realizations for State-Space Digital Filters
On the fixed-point implementation of digital filters, undesirable finite-word-length (FWL) effects arise due to the coefficient truncation and arithmetic roundoff. These FWL effects must be reduced as small as possible because such effects may cause serious degradation of characteristic of digital filters. L2-sensitivity is one of the evaluation functions which evaluate the coefficient quantiza...
متن کاملA Method of Eliminating Oscillations in High-Speed Recursive Digital Filters
A dynamic scaling (DS) method is proposed as a cost-effective means of eliminating overflow and limit cycle oscillations in fixed-point direct-form recursive filters. It is implemented by adding a DS unit to a fixed-point on-line module without modifying latter. On-line modules consume inputs and produce outputs digit serially, most significant digit first. The DS method introduces a shared exp...
متن کاملAn improved criterion for the global asymptotic stability of 2-D state-space digital filters with finite wordlength nonlinearities
This paper investigates the problem of global asymptotic stability of fixed-point statespace two-dimensional (2-D) digital filters described by the Roesser model in the presence of finite wordlength nonlinearities. The class of nonlinearities under consideration captures the combined effects of quantization (except value truncation) and overflow arithmetic employed in practice. A new criterion ...
متن کاملAIOSC: Analytical Integer Word-length Optimization based on System Characteristics for Recursive Fixed-point LTI Systems
The integer word-length optimization known as range analysis (RA) of the fixed-point designs is a challenging problem in high level synthesis and optimization of linear-time-invariant (LTI) systems. The analysis has significant effects on the resource usage, accuracy and efficiency of the final implementation, as well as the optimization time. Conventional methods in recursive LTI systems suffe...
